The Caribbean Primate Research Center (CPRC) is a research, training, and education unit of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Medical Sciences Campus. It is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and UPR. Research at the CPRC has led to groundbreaking discoveries in various scientific fields. 

The CPRC's animal care program fully complies with the directives established by the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). It is monitored by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) of the UPR-MSC and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) of the USDA. The CPRC is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC). The CPRC's programs are supported by the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) of the NIH through Grant Number P40 OD012217 and by the UPR.
